Obama Nervous?

From recent Dana Milbank article.. “preezy is making me queasy because his nonstop campaigning is looking, well, sleazy — and his ad suggesting that Mitt Romney wouldn’t have killed Osama bin Laden is just the beginning of it.”  Yikes!  This criticism isn’t coming from Obama’s right but from a liberal writer.

Here’s more from the article:  In a political culture that long ago surrendered to the permanent campaign, Obama has managed to take things to a whole new level. According to statistics compiled for a book to be published this summer, the president has already set a record for total first-term fundraisers — 191 — and that’s only through March 6. Measured in terms of events that benefit his reelection bid, Obama’s total (inflated in part by relaxed fundraising rules) exceeds the combined total of George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter.

That’s a lot of fundraisers!

From the other side of the political landscape comes an editorial from Peggy Noonan.  She suggests that all of this is evidence that Obama is running scared, “The old Washington gossip was that the Obama campaign was too confident, now it is that they are nervous.”

Bob Schieffer vs David Axelrod

A day (or week) late and a dollar (or a couple hundred billion… who’s counting) short but still funny enough to post it up.  The dems are running an accusing the GOP of taking foreign money through the US Chamber of Commerce.  The ad was debunked by the NYT.  David Axelrod then went on Face the Nation to look like a dumbass.  He did it very well.  The ad, article and interview below.

This attack ad was followed by campaign trail comments from President Obama.  Excerpted from a NYT article in this matter…

In two campaign stops Thursday, Mr. Obama invoked what he portrayed as a specific new example, citing a blog posting from a liberal advocacy group as he teed off on a longtime adversary, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, over its political spending.

“Just this week, we learned that one of the largest groups paying for these ads regularly takes in money from foreign corporations,” Mr. Obama said. “So groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections.”

But a closer examination shows that there is little evidence that what the chamber does in collecting overseas dues is improper or even unusual, according to both liberal and conservative election-law lawyers and campaign finance documents.

Full article here.

Next, Axelrod appears on Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer.

Here’s the substance of the exchange that matters…. these aren’t quotes.  For complete transcript click here.

Schieffer:  Do you have any evidence this is true?

Axelrod:  Do you have evidence that it isn’t?

I know you are but what am I?

The Dems aren’t even trying to hide the fact that they think we’re dumb enough not to recognize how empty their bag of nothin’ is….

Obama’s father served in WWII?

Not sure if that’s a hacked and editted pile of crap, if wiki is wrong, if Obama’s lying his ass off, or if he just didin’t know that his father was ten years old in 1946.

I guess we can offer the suggestion that he fought in WWII as a… hmmm… as a… well, I’m not sure but certainly calling Obama out on his comments would be pretty convincing evidencv that you’re a racist.  Why do you hate Obama so much?  Why?  Why would you hate hope and change?

Anyway, best guess is that he meant his maternal grandfather.  Here’s wiki’s account of Stanley Armour Dunham.  Sounds like a very reputable man who did his duty quite honorably and with very little to no combat experience.  We can all agree that honorable service is honorable service and I’ll not disparage his grandfather one iota.  Let me say clearly, Sergeant Dunham deserves our respect for his services.  However, for Obama to make political hay by mischaracterizing his grandfather’s memory is not worthy of our respect.
